Chinese

Our students engage in Chinese classes from their first year of school. They explore Chinese culture and learn basic Mandarin with a specialist teacher. We have links with the Confucius Centre located at our local secondary college and children enjoy visits to the centre where they participate in a number of rich activities. Our children have the opportunity to engage in a range of community based cultural events, such as the Ballarat city’s China Challenge and parading with 'Gum Loong' Ballarat's authentic Chinese dragon, during the Ballarat Begonia Festival. The school also enjoys visits from Chinese students visiting our region.
